Work to create smooth transition for nonprofit organization as Board hires new Executive Director. What an incredible, creative organization serving children well. I have been focused on strategic planning, organizational capacity, finance and administrative systems to prepare the organization for long term sustainability.

As the Executive Director for Oklahomans for the Arts, Kirt encourages support for arts and culture across the state, especially public investment. Oklahomans for the Arts, a statewide nonprofit organization, represents a network of more than 4,500 supporters. Together, these artists, executives, volunteers and community leaders advocate at the state and local level.

Julia Kirt served as the Executive Director for the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition from 1999 until 2014 where she worked with more than 4,000 artists statewide for professional development, grants, exhibitions and publications. She has planned and led more than two dozen workshops for artists, spoken to hundreds of students, and coordinated public educational events around the state. Working with volunteer leaders, colleagues and partner organizations, she has instigated the Momentum exhibition, www.momentumoklahoma.org, an event for young artists, the online Virtual Gallery, www.ovacgallery.com, the Art 365 exhibition www.Art365.org, the Oklahoma Art Writing and Curatorial Fellowship www.write-curate-art.org and the Concept/OK exhibition www.concept-ok.org.
