Specific responsibilities include:• Provide strategic and tactical leadership and direction to the Engineering career advising team, including implementing seminars, workshops, and programs that assist students in the exploration and development of their future career plans.• Lead initiative to integrate career design education into Engineering Foundations, a required course for all Engineering first-year students.• Provide support to underrepresented students by partnering with the Center for Diversity in Engineering, Bridge, and Clark Scholars programs for student career development and global engagement.• Oversee employer engagement and outreach efforts; collaborate with corporate relations and university advancement colleagues to engage alumni and employers in a variety of industries.• Collaborate with UVA’s International Studies Office, Education Abroad advisors, and office of Global Internships to increase Engineering students’ exposure and access to opportunities with international internships, research programs, and study abroad experiences.• Represent Engineering School on the UVA Global Engagement Council and serve as liaison to the Vice Provost for Global Affairs.• Serve as key member of UVA Career Services Council, the pan-university career services leadership team.In addition to these formal responsibilities, I engage in scholarly research and writing on the topics of student career success and gender equity in higher education. I am a member of the organizing committee for UVA's Scholarship of Engineering Education Research Interest Group, which aims to advance scholarship in engineering education and support faculty/staff research efforts.
