Lead career development and international programs efforts across all Engineering degree programs. Serve as a strategic partner to the Engineering Dean’s leadership team, working to strengthen and integrate career development, professional growth, and learning opportunities throughout the school. Specific responsibilities include:• Provide strategic and tactical leadership and direction to the Engineering career advising team, including implementing seminars, workshops, and programs that assist students in the exploration and development of their future career plans.• Lead initiative to integrate career design education into Engineering Foundations, a required course for all Engineering first-year students.• Provide support to underrepresented students by partnering with the Center for Diversity in Engineering, Bridge, and Clark Scholars programs for student career development and global engagement.• Oversee employer engagement and outreach efforts; collaborate with corporate relations and university advancement colleagues to engage alumni and employers in a variety of industries.• Collaborate with UVA’s International Studies Office, Education Abroad advisors, and office of Global Internships to increase Engineering students’ exposure and access to opportunities with international internships, research programs, and study abroad experiences.• Represent Engineering School on the UVA Global Engagement Council and serve as liaison to the Vice Provost for Global Affairs.• Serve as key member of UVA Career Services Council, the pan-university career services leadership team.In addition to these formal responsibilities, I engage in scholarly research and writing on the topics of student career success and gender equity in higher education. I am a member of the organizing committee for UVA's Scholarship of Engineering Education Research Interest Group, which aims to advance scholarship in engineering education and support faculty/staff research efforts.

Manage all facets of career development by providing strategic and tactical leadership and direction to the SEAS career development team. Oversee the operations of Engineering Career Development within SEAS, including managing individual career counseling, implementing graduate and professional school fairs, and designing seminars, workshops, and programs that assist students in the exploration and development of their future career plans. This position will maintain and nurture existing relationships, as well as develop new relationships, with a significant base of employers who have an interest in recruiting and hiring UVA SEAS students and alumni for career- related internships and full-time positions.

The project is a collaboration between the Karsh Institute of Democracy and the School of Education and Human Development and is funded by University of Virginia's President and Provost’s Fund for Institutionally-Related Research. The aims of the project are to create intellectual community across the humanities and social/behavioral sciences related to questions about the relationship between individual flourishing and civic engagement as well as to support disciplinary work in these different fields. It includes a monthly colloquium as well as funding to support student-facing work in this area.

The Higher Education Innovation Fellowship (HEIF) is a year-long program where fellows will learn from leaders across disciplines (e.g. technology, behavioral economics, nonprofits, and higher education) and practice innovation in higher education.The fellowship includes six months of curriculum, nine days of innovation workshops at Switchboard HQ in lovely Portland, Oregon, and a six-month applied campus innovation project where fellows will put one of their ideas into action with the one-on-one guidance of a coach.

Build relationships with a wide range of university constituents and develop strategic partnerships to support the Dean’s priorities, including financial aid, leadership education, and faculty/program support. Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and corporate relationships for The Whiting School of Engineering. Regional territories include Northern California, upstate New York and New England.

Led the employer relations efforts for the JHU Career Center and provided comprehensive career counseling and advising services to undergraduate and graduate students in the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. Counseled and advised students through the career decision making process, including: assessment, exploration, and job & internship search strategies. Provided access to jobs and internships through on-campus recruiting, career fairs, networking events, resume referral, and on-line postings.

Provide educational and career counseling to graduate and undergraduate students and alumni. Heavily involved in career development for MBA program. Deliver career presentations to students and serve on campus-wide committees.

Recruited and trained a network of 30 colleges and universities to pilot an online, academic and career planning portfolio program. Collaborated with software development team to resolve technical and user interface issues. Assisted in the development of marketing materials and instructional guides.

Served as CHAMPS Life Skills Intern (2001-2001) and Graduate Assistant to Athletic Academic Advising (2000-2001) for UVA Department of Athletics. Wrote comprehenisve paper on the career development concerns of college student-athletes.
