I am committed to working towards transformational societal change that shifts power for justice and equity. I have 20 years’ nonprofit leadership experience empowering people, strengthening organizations and advocating with communities. I am fluent in English and Spanish and hold an Executive Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington. Over 15 years, I have cultivated relationships with a wide range of community partners throughout the City of Milton-Freewater, Walla Walla County, and Columbia County to transform programs and organizations using teamwork, data, research, and debate. I not only advocate for, but also implement policy changes to improve operations, build equity, and address community priorities. In my ongoing early childhood advocacy work, for example, I support childcare providers having realistic compensation so that families have the high quality, affordable, and accessible childcare they need. I have supervised teams of 5-20 staff and 5-100 volunteers. I have worked with leadership teams to annually raise organization and program budgets ranging from $60,000 to $350,000. I have worked collaboratively to host private and community events with 5-1000 participants and 5-100 volunteers.In my current work as Sherwood Trust Program Director, I provide visionary leadership in partnership with community, staff, and board to develop research-driven learning strategies to advance the Trust’s mission and vision that everyone contributes to a thriving region.
