I co-led the founding of several trans-disciplinary research centers, including for environmental science, data science, and preventative conservation and sustainability. I collaborated with the provost on creating policies related to faculty development, promotion, and salary structures and defined initial strategies and priorities for the Center of Teaching and Learning. During my tenure, the faculty was increased by 330%, and the student population by 280%. This was accomplished by executing a future-forward vision with diverse growth capabilities for both online and in-person engagement. UTEC is now ranked in first place per capita for scientific production in Peru โ€“ competition included established universities within the region.This role was concurrent with, but separate from the Harvard appointment overlapping many of the same years.
