About Julia Murphy

As a senior origination & development and project finance executive with 20+ years of experience building teams, originating & executing deals, and structuring financings for utilities, private equity, renewable, and energy efficiency companies, I have held a variety of roles from head of M&A to Investment Partner to Head of Origination. Known for my expertise in origination/business development, strategic partnerships, project, and corporate finance, due diligence, fund development, investment strategies, capital raising, and hedging, I have worked closely with regulators, government officials, strategic companies, oil and chemical majors, third party advocacy groups, lawyers and bankers.Expressing my entrepreneurial side, I built a new sustainable finance investment company, created a new $2B infrastructure private equity fund, and brought PG&E (utility) out of bankruptcy ($9B refinancing).Last 10+ years, I originated and developed waste-to-energy and circular economy ♻️ projects in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), Plastic to Plastic Chemical Recycling in Europe, and Integrated Biorefineries. In my current role at Nature Energy, I am Head of Strategic Partnerships and work with fortune 100 companies to build a portfolio of integrated biorefinery projects that produce RNG, green CO2, natural fertilizer, biomethane, and CNG by processing manure, industrial and food waste.As an Investment Managing Director, and Treasurer, I possess broad financial acumen and expertise in project and corporate finance and asset management with knowledge of debt markets, interest rate hedging strategies, and structures.Managing a variety of projects, I am an expert in corporate buy and sell side financings and operations with a proven ability to identify and streamline processes to increase efficiencies and inspire my teams to achieve goals.With international experience, I have worked on renewable finance and energy market deals around the globe, including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, London, and Sydney. Passionate about traveling and experiencing the world through the lens of triathlon training as a competitive athlete, I’ve also done shark research in Africa and hiked Mt.
