About Julia Hayes

Leading on the Create Growth Programme for Creative UK in the West Midlands. Developing Opportunities for Creative Businesses to be investment ready. After many years in London I am now based in Hereford where I'm growing my networks across the Creative and Cultural community. I am a board member at The Courtyard Theatre, Hereford leading on strategic oversight of outreach and operations I have worked across education and the creative industries in London for over 10 years. Including as Musicians Careers And Partnerships Manager at the music charity Help Musicians, a foundation which seeks to support artist development among emerging musicians. Prior to this as Creative Programme Manager for Help Musicians. As Employment Manager at Create Jobs I developed a training and talent development programmes for young adults managing a team, partnership building and engagement. Create Jobs is a leading initiative, pioneering approaches for advocating for and creating opportunities for diverse young Londoners in the arts and creative industries. I programmed a range of exciting and innovative creative learning opportunities and through effective partnership development across the sector. With a strong interest in research and gathering evidence of impact, I have led on the development of a an evaluation framework for the Creative Programme at Help Musicians. Creating training materials and seminars to train up my team in the consistent use of this tool. At A New Direction I engaged alongside my colleagues in the process of developing a theory of change for the CJ programme. I look for ways to dynamically and analytically tell the story of the good work myself and my teams have produced through effective monitoring and evaluation.

I am building a business plan for the programme drawing up strategies round recruitment diversity, skills gaps analysis, partnerships and impact measurement planning. My objective is to secure long term funding for the growth of this complex and impactful offer.
