Co-chair the volunteer executive team and serve as Chair of the Retrofit Working Group for this neighborhood based net-zero group that has received significant national media attention for its work, particularly in home retrofits. This work has now led to the development of a new non-profit, Toronto Home Retrofits.

Toronto Home Retrofits (THR) is not-for-profit organization in development that will offer community groups across Toronto the support they need to help their members to “green” their homes. Scaling up from a proven model, this program will partner with community groups to deliver a home retrofit coordination service, providing more homeowners with critical assistance through the home retrofit process. Toronto Home Retrofits aims to significantly accelerate home retrofits in communities across the city. Our model builds on the success of the Pocket Change Project, whose retrofit coordination service in Toronto’s east end is already demonstrating homeowner demand for retrofits, the value of advice for homeowners and the ability to deliver significant GHG emissions reductions.

Wrote multiple national and international grant proposals and reports to support this innovative and internationally successful non-profit that aims to effect societal change by fostering empathy in children.
