Julia Morizawa has written and produced award-winning projects including "JesusCat (or How I Accidentally Joined a Cult)" (feature film), "Twenty-Two" (play), "Sin & Lyle" (short film), and "American Comedy Horror Story" (fiction podcast). She also wrote a collection of short stories titled "Memoirs of a Wannabe Sex Addict," published by Fanny Press.Julia’s current project is the animated short film "Dragonfly" (a historical drama about the Tokyo Firebombing of March 9-10, 1945), which premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in May 2023. The script won Best Short Screenplay at Scriptation Showcase and Screenwriting Master in 2019 and placed at several other screenwriting competitions including Austin Film Festival, Slamdance, WeScreenplay. Other projects in development include the feature “Something About the Tide,” a coming-of-age dramedy for those of us over 30 (think “Sideways” meets “The Farewell”), and "Where We Came From," a limited series based on the true story of her grandparents' experiences on opposite sides of the world during WWII.Julia is also an actor with extensive experience in film, television, theatre, web series and podcasts.
