I always wanted to be the next great American novelist. Growing up, I was infatuated with the vivacious stories and lifestyles of Fitzgerald, Hemingway and Kerouac — names uttered with such reverence and acclaim, and whose contributions to society have deemed them immortal. I always thought that there was no greater honor than to have your name mentioned by John Keating. But then I started coding…I was immediately hooked with the first JavaScript tutorials I watched on YouTube. Coding perfectly melds my passion for problem solving with my creative instincts — an amalgamation of thoughts and curiosities satisfied with a few keystrokes and button clicks.I am a full-stack web developer who is always eager to learn new skills and dive deep into foreign codebases. I specialize in both Model-View-Controller(MVC) and Higher-Order Component(HOC) design patterns and have a fundamental understanding of JavaScript, React, Ruby, Ruby-on-Rails, HTML and CSS. I am currently working on gaining an even deeper understanding of React, and plan on learning Node.js, Python and R (I’m a huge sports nerd) next. On my journey I have found that more important than the idiosyncrasies of particular languages and frameworks are the core principles behind them, and I look forward to applying those principles to my professional development.
