As the Hiring Manager/Chief Training Officer, I am responsible for performing various duties under the policies and procedures of Manifest Independence LLC., the Federal Government, Oregon Department of Human Recourses and the Tri-Country Portland Metro Area. My duties include but not limited to all aspects of hiring and training employees. I post and maintain job announcements on job search engines. I review all candidates; schedule and preform interviews. Once candidates background checks are approved, I call them in for new employee orientation. I create training materiel. I train them on how to preform their job( New Employee Orientation); as well as Mandatory Abuse Reporter Training, and a few others. I collaborate with my management team to determine the candidate’s rate of pay and for matching new employees with one of our intellectual/developmental disabled adult customers. I schedule employees to meet with the customers and explain the needs the customer has and the services they need. I also do indirect phones supports for employees and customers. I am the direct manager for 20+ employees. I also occasionally have to fill-in for my direct care support staff if they are not available for their shift. As an Agricultural Commodity Grader I am responsible for performing various duties under the U.S. Grain Standards Act of 1976 and the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946. I am still responsible for all the duties of a technician, plus all the grader’s duties; such as setting up Cusum logs to meet load order species. I have to use mathematical equations to determine percentages of dockage, heat damage, damage, foreign material, and several other factors depending on the commodity I am grading. I have had on the job training with supervisors on how to perform a Grain Quality Inspection Act of 1986 and how to complete daily time and chargers and export billing. I have performed supervisor duties as an Acting Shift Supervisor. As an Acting Shift Supervisor have assisted in planning, directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations to assure that Federal Standards and specifications are applied throughout the assigned geographical area. I deal directly with industry representatives to resolve problems that occur in inspection, weighing, billing, personal, staffing, workloads and other areas where problems may develop. I have helped the Quality Assurance Specialist with grading seminars and also put on one of these seminars by myself. These seminars are put on to show buyers, farmers and other companies how we perform our job. I have trained 5+ new hires. Preformed new employee orientations. I provide one on one instruction and observation of new employees on sampling products according to Agricultural Marking Act of 1946. I completed online training on leadership and industry management. I was the recipient of the 2014 Administrations Superior Group Award. I have done training or worked details at the facilities in Stuttgart Arkansas, Grand Forks North Dakota, League City Texas, and Olympia Washington. I am responsible for performing duties under the U.S. Grain Standards Act of 1976 and the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946. I prepare samples for official inspection using different equipment. I ensure that weights are accurate and complete official weight certification. I properly issue official weights for inbound and outbound grain. I monitor grain flow paths for identity preserved of grain from one point to another. I perform a full range of laboratory test and recording test results. I preform stowage examinations to ensure cleanliness and acceptability of storage. I oversee fumigation by a certified applicator to ensure fumigants are applied according to agency approved instructions. At the completion of a carrier I will properly fill out reports. I have been selected for a few special projects. Several years I have been on the gate check team. This team observes the gates, belts, and shipping bins as they open and close to determine that they are working properly. We compare the timing indicated by the computer for opening, closing, starting and stopping with the actual performance of the gate, etc. Another special project that I was selected for in 2010 was The official Inspection Laboratory Location, Design and Maintenance Requirements (Directive 9160.5). As a part of this team I went out to field locations, and document what wasn’t compliant with these requirements and report to management. Every 6 months I designed a 6 month daily report book for the MGMT Rig. Over the years I have received several awards. I received an award for preforming an excellent job on gate checks. I have also received an award for creating a training guide. This guide is now given to new hires in FGIS. I have trained 20+ new hires. I was the New Orleans local 3127 Union Safety and Health Officer.
