As an Employer Relations Specialist at ISSofBC, I had the privilege of playing a pivotal role in supporting newcomers to British Columbia (BC) in their journey towards meaningful employment and integration into the local community.My responsibilities encompassed a multifaceted approach aimed at bridging the gap between newcomers and prospective employers. Leveraging innovative tools such as AI interview programs, I assisted newcomers in preparing for job interviews and upskilling their resumes to meet the demands of the competitive job market.One of the highlights of my tenure was organizing several job fairs, each attracting over 150 attendees. These events served as vital platforms for connecting businesses with newcomer talents, fostering fruitful partnerships, and creating pathways to employment opportunities.Beyond facilitating job placements, my role extended to providing comprehensive support to newcomers for a better life in BC. Whether it was offering guidance on navigating cultural nuances or providing resources to enhance their socio-economic well-being, I was committed to empowering newcomers to thrive in their new environment.Overall, my experience as an Employer Relations Specialist at ISSofBC has been immensely fulfilling, allowing me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of newcomers and contribute to the inclusive growth of the BC community.
