Designed and developed Special Offers feature for Kindle Touch device released Fall 2011. Introduced support for Amazon Local daily deal integration to allow customers to start receiving and purchasing Groupon-like deals on their Kindles.Designed and developed Kindle with Special Offers device which shipped in May 2011 and subsequently became the #1 bestselling item in Amazon electronics. Wrote technical specification for on-device software services required to support ad and offer delivery, display and reporting. Worked closely with QA team to resolve blocker and critical issues for successful alpha, beta and production launches.

Served as technical lead for hbo.com redesign project. Defined technical architecture, which included significant coding responsibilities, developed infrastructure requirements and numerous third-party vendors. Led and mentored team of six engineers through prototype and ongoing multiple development release cycles. Introduced and implemented distributed caching technology at both the application-level (memcached) as well as the CDN-level (Limelight) as part of the architectural design. Worked with load testing team to identify and resolve launch-critical performance issues and meet traffic requirements for highly visible public website.Functioned as server technical lead for HBO on Broadband consumer video-delivery product. Lead team of three developers through multiple rounds of enhancements to successful consumer trial launch.

Designed, developed, and maintained the Digital Repository Services (DRS), which is the cornerstone of Harvard's Library Digital Initiative project. The DRS is a preservation repository for digital objects which include high-resolution images, archival audio and scanned text. Each digital object consists of a file stored on a unix filesystem and associated metadata stored in an Oracle relational database.Designed architecture for library reserves integration with instructional courseware systems at Harvard University. Defined and implemented SOAP services using Apache Axis for submission and retrieval of reserves requests and course metadata, allowing for a unique and efficient collaboration environment between instructional staff and library staff. Defined Oracle data model as well as persistence mapping Java API using Hibernate. Created Struts-based library staff interface for managing tens of thousands of reserves requests for over 1000 courses each year.

Moved beta web and email-based discussion tool (H2O) to a 1.0 open source release.
