I book and schedule ground transportation for students and teachers on trips to DC, as well as Philadelphia, Williamsburg, VA, and New York City. Along with others in my department, I manage complex program schedules and coordinate other program elements to ensure successful program operations for students.

I provide civic education for groups of 20-25 middle or high school students from around the US as they take week-long trips to Washington, DC. We use monuments, museums, and other landmarks in the DC area to create a "living classroom" and teach the students how to talk about complex issues and increase their political efficacy. We also facilitate meetings with the students' elected representatives on Capitol Hill.

I instruct diverse groups of English Language Learners from a variety of backrounds, incorporating listening, speaking, reading, and writing practice into each day's lesson. I focus on pronunciation and grammar and conduct classes with the main goal being to motivate my students to speak as much as possible.

I teach English as a Second Language to adult learners from a variety of backgrounds. I plan my own lessons based on a robust curriculum that covers learners from A1 to C2 based on the CEFR (primarily working with intermediate students from A2-B2), and incorporate engaging activities. Additionally, in the upper intermediate levels, my classes have a stronger focus on discussion and writing practice.

I provide training and conduct weekly check-ins with about 35 tutors working with English language learners, whose education has been affected and interrupted by conflict, primarily by the ongoing Syrian civil war. I assist with the training at the beginning of each semester in the program, disseminate information about the program to the tutors, and assist with grading the students' assessments.

Cabrero, Chile

The English Opens Doors Program is an initiative run by the Chilean Ministry of Education, based in Santiago. For my role in the program, which was in fall 2019 (or spring for those of us in the northern hemisphere), I:-Worked in Liceo Politécnico Oscar Bonilla Bradanovic, located in Cabrero, Bío Bío Province, about 500km south of the capital. I taught approximately 200 students aged 13-17, most of whom were in the A1-A2 level according to CEFR.-Planned my own lessons in accordance with the head teacher's curriculum, mostly working on improving the students' vocabulary, as well as their speaking and listening skills. -Planned and ran extracurricular activities for students, as well as English lessons for the school's adult faculty members.-Worked as a counselor at the English Immersion Winter Camp in Santiago at the end of my contract with the program.
