I am currently a Partner in the Investigations and Litigation Group at A&O Shearman where I represent companies, officers, directors, and executives in white collar criminal cases, anti-corruption and internal investigations, compliance matters, and sensitive internal reviews involving culture and conduct issues related to race, sex, gender, sexuality, and religion.Throughout my legal career I have served in both public and private practice, including serving as Deputy Attorney General for New York State, Deputy Chief of Investigations for the Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption, and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) where I was a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit. At the SDNY, I was a lead prosecutor in the investigation of the Bernard L. Madoff Ponzi Scheme and a special appointee to the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force.I am currently Chair Emeritus of the Board of Directors of The Trevor Project. Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.I began my career as a law clerk to the Hon. Kim McLane Wardlaw of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. I graduated with honors from Harvard College and received my law degree with honors from Columbia Law School, where I was the Executive Managing Editor of the Columbia Law Review.
