Segmed is a secure, cloud-based platform that provides a one-stop-shop for medical AI companies to access high quality training data. Segmed does this via curated datasets from partnerships with hospitals and a network of vetted medical experts to perform annotations. My goal is to establish Segmed as a data supplied with medical imaging startups and companies.

Supporting regulatory processes as an external clinical expert. Focus on risk analysis, literature research and drafting of clinical evaluation reports (CER) and clinical evaluation plans (CEP) for both CE and FDA submissions.

Focused on innovative, novel algorithms and technologies to support and augment the workflows of radiologists using artificial intelligence. Covering the whole pathway from idea, development, technical & clinical validation to product development, regulatory approval (CE+FDA) and ultimately go-to market.

My team is working on the development of the AI-Rad Companion, a vendor-neutral, multi-organ augmented reading solution that automatically prepares clinical input to be interpreted by radiologists, pathologists and/or clinicians. My clinical expertise helps keeping functionality and user experience focused on improving clinical workflows.As the medical affairs lead, I also advise various other AI efforts at Siemens Healthineers, coordinate regulatory affairs efforts (participated in 2 successful FDA 510(k) clearances so far), design and execute clinical trials, establish long-lasting relationships with key opinion leaders, and support our sales teams.

Smart Reporting wants to change how data from clinical examinations is generated. While dramatically improving radiologists' workflows and creating high-quality synoptic reports, machine-readable data is simultaneously generated. Integrations into the leading vendors' RIS/HIS/EHR/PACS systems also allow AI algorithms to provide results where they really count for patients and clinicians: in the report. My duties included overseeing the medical content team, acquiring major hospitals and key opinion leaders for our platform, and to lead scientific efforts internationally.

Restructured cardiac CT service with a focus on TAVR imaging together with cardiology division. Helped develop advanced CMR service.

Oversaw & developed CT research with a focus on dual-energy CT, oncological and vascular imaging. Launched & led Division of Experimental and Translational Imaging (DETI). >70 articles published based on my guidance during that time. Led development of new CT techniques in collaborations with major vendors (e.g., Siemens Healthineers, GE Healthcare).

Full-time clinical radiologist with a focus on oncological and cardiovascular CT/MRI. Board-certified radiologist (in compliance w/ Directive 93/16/EEC valid in all countries of the EU).

As the deputy head of CT research at the Division of Cardiovascular Imaging, I managed team efforts in developing new research, with >50 articles published based on my guidance during that time.
