My work centers on the design and operation of market mechanisms with a particular focus on ensuring the environmental and social integrity of baseline-and-credit systems. I am closely following international climate negotiations on carbon markets (Article 6) and have contributed to numerous carbon market studies on Article 6, the voluntary carbon market and other market-based instruments. My focus is on the policy design choices of market-based instruments at the international level and the development of well-integrated Article 6 strategies at the national level.

Researching the alignment of national and international policy processes with a particular focus on the 'ambition mechanism' under the Paris Agreement. To this end, interviews with parliamentarians, policy-makers and other national actors have been conducted to identify promising developments in national climate legislation and policies. The results and identified best practices were published in a policy brief in December 2018.
