My present role is to develop Retails Financial planning systems using Cognos TM1. Previously at Assimil8 I was involved in start-to-finish product lifespan, from initial client marketing, creation of marketing materials, blogging, website design, and through pre-sales and on to model implementation. The business used the latest tools to solve Financial Planning problems for clients, creating solutions that fit their business, not merely implementing software. Client gains include Thales UK, East Coast Mainline and Flybe.Prior to that, from a tax specialist background where for a number of years managing a small team of tax advisers, I moved into web site development - designing, programming and running websites, and then a natural progression to software programming and development. Business AnalystBupa Feb 2010 - Apr 2011Originally taken on a four week contract, I spent three months in the Business Intelligence & Competence Centre, working alongside a team of Business and Commercial Analysts. My brief initially was to help them set up a series of spreasheets, but this evolved to the point where I was highly involved in the process of developing the solution. The work incorporated high level Excel work, including creation of macros and complex underlying factoring. The data was being pulled from a SAS solution, so I became familiar with that also.I also instigated a remote submission system to help bypass the inherent problems of working with spreadsheets, locking down import and export procedures as far as possible. -

Also involved is a large element of social networking, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. My efforts helped gain nationwide recognition for the company, for example leading to the awards mentioned below. • WritingI wrote for all websites, and also regularly for a number of high profile financial websites, including MSN Money, Yahoo Money, AOL and Tiscali business. These articles generated almost two million unique visits. I did this by learning Visual Basic, Access databases. The program was used by 1000 of our clients and was sold nationally. It formed the basis for Arithmo.• Set up and manage operation Initially I was employed to set up and run a section of the organisation to provide efficient, low cost tax return services. I created the model of the operation, and ran it for three years. When I moved onto different areas, this had 3000+ clients and a staff of six and still uses my basic structure.
