Website Administrator
Developer
This role involves working as a member of a team that designs and develops websites for the Department. The primary task involves liaising with the Multimedia Development Coordinator to create the website structure and styling designed by the Graphics Design team. The websites are built using the Drupal CMS system and involve coordinating with the ICT department to integrate with the existing SharePoint websites within the Department’s portfolio. Part of the role involves adjusting the CMS interface to make it as user friendly as possible for the stakeholders to make changes to the content.Whilst working in this role, I worked on an inter-agency collaboration project. The task involved working from the office of a website development company for several weeks to assist with the development of the wa.gov.au website in collaboration with a team from the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer. The website was built in Drupal 8, with my focus being on both developing the front-end of the site and on achieving WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards. Another part of my role was to be a liaison between the website development agency and the OGCIO team, ensuring that government standards were followed, Drupal best practices were observed and that all technical aspects of the project were understood across all team members. The project followed the Agile methodology and required me to contribute to daily stand-ups, manage work tickets in Jira and present the progress of the website build in weekly meetings with a user reference group.
Senior Developer
The role encompasses developing both websites and website applications for a diverse range of clients, from Government departments through to small businesses. The projects utilise Wordpress as the primary CMS, with custom plugins and custom post types used to tailor each system to meet the client requirements. Grunt is used for maintaining a fast, efficient and consistent workflow to set up new GitHub repositories, clone a base installation, pre-process SASS and JS and to deploy the project to both staging and live servers.Examples of projects that I have worked on include: - https://www.rottnestfastferries.com.au - http://www.adamspinnacletours.com.au - http://globetrotterlife.com.au - https://www.ccgs.wa.edu.au
Senior Developer
My primary role was to deliver website projects and web based systems using a range of CMS systems, including Joomla, Wordpress and Prestashop. The role also includes managing various web servers such as CPanel hosting and Amazon Web Services, maintaining standards within the Git version control system, implementing documentation and procedures, providing training and managing project delivery. Regular tasks include working with existing websites, coordinating work priorities within the team, liaising with customers to generate project requirements and publishing their content.Examples of projects I have worked on include: - http://www.furniturebazaar.com.au - http://www.apm-solutions.com.au - http://www.hmtracey.com.au - http://www.amusements4kids.com.au - http://www.floorwise.com.au
Website Designer / Developer
This role involved front-end design and coding work on several web development projects, as well as producing EDM templates for email campaigns. The primary task was to work on an accessible system for part of a government department website where a user could answer questions to generate a tailored document. The website was built on the Kentico CMS system, with my front end code integrating with the ASP.Net back end code that powers the system.Other project work included developing new sub-sites and maintaining the portfolio of sites for Peet (a national home builder), creating email templates and landing pages for LotteryWest campaigns and constructing a technically complex site that satisfied a very specific design brief for an Alinta Gas promotion.
Website Designer / Developer
The role encompassed all aspects of website development projects, from inception through to completion, including: - Managing clients to document the requirements, timescale and cost for the project. - Designing a visual concept to meet the demands of both the client as well as the visitors to thewebsite. - Developing a fully functioning website using various CMS systems, including Concrete5, Magento, Wordpress and Joomla, using PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. - Optimising the site for maximum SEO benefits. - Delivering training to the key personnel, including producing training manuals and deliveringpresentations to groups of users. - Analysing the Google Analytics data for a website, resolving issues and making suggestions forhow the website can be improved. - Configuring domains, hosting and email accounts and maintaining a process of backup and version control of all website assets. The role also provides the opportunity for attending and presenting at regular networking meetings and events, through the BNI (Business Networking International) networking group, membership of the ADMA (Australian Digital Marketing Association) and other groups.Examples of websites that I have produced include: - http://www.twomoonsconsulting.com.au - http://www.hiscosuperstore.com.au - http://www.savagesurveying.com.au - http://www.officespacefinder.com.au - http://www.degreycivil.com.au - http://www.wbsgroup.com.au - http://www.techwest.com.au
Website Developer
The role was to manage the website design and development team to deliver all aspects of websitedevelopment projects. The role also involved general IT support and maintenance of various networks, systems and hardware, ranging from installing new software, upgrading and replacing hardware and troubleshooting problems. Whilst at Lifetime Web, I produced over 50 websites. Many of those projects involved dealing with the directors of multi-million pound organisations, with strict budgets and deadlines.
Emarketing Developer
My primary role was to upgrade the portfolio of websites that the company had grown over several years, to modernise them all and to give them a consistent brand identity. Within 6 months I had completely overhauled 5 marketing websites and merged them into one portal (www.capitaes.co.uk). This involved building the entire site from the ground up, and included a site usage reporting system, search engine, email contact forms, DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant pages and a web-based CMS system.
