• Oversaw the access layer for Marin's transactional data store used by all internal teams and the customer-facing UI• Led the design and implementation of Marin's fact pipeline which processed all users' cost and revenue data• Reviewed the design, architecture, and schemata of services and applications to spread best practices and aid efficiency• Designed and implemented Spark Streaming pipelines to process near-real time dimensional changes• Built and maintained Marin's builds of Phoenix and Spark and contributed fixes to Apache Phoenix• Provided operational expertise and support for all of our databases and Hadoop infrastructure• Directed junior engineers and contractors

I designed, built, and maintained webapps written in Python with a PostGreSQL database (~12M records) for PAHMA, a world-class anthropology & archaeology museum at UC Berkeley, in order to facilitate searching, systematic inventorying, and other essential collections functions. I also designed webpages and online application forms with HTML/CSS/JS and occasional Google Charts and designed and implemented Python and bash monitoring scripts.

Worked to instrument and display real-time metrics from a variety of sources (including Hadoop, Pig, and Spark) using Flume, Kafka, Logstash, ElasticSearch, and Kibana. Used Apache Spark and SparkSQL to parse and perform interactive queries on large (100's GB - 1 TB) data sets and wrote custom utilities. Also attended Spark Summit 2014.
