Currently working as Head of Quality and Training for Drury. I'm an AST and CQI Q Assistant Instructor. Will run my first full Q course at the end of September. Before my current role, I worked as a coffee roaster and trainer for 39Steps, Beantale Coffee and Max Fronteras. Also for Qima and Monmouth Coffee Company, all in London, UK. My wife and I moved to the UK in April 2017 after living 3 years in Dubai. At the beginning of May 2017 I passed the 20 exams needed to become an Arabica Q Grader. I still don't know how I managed to do it :D. 2018 got me to the finals of the Austrian Cup Tasters Championship. In 2023 I managed to be 2nd in the UK Cup Tasters Championship.I was lucky enough to win the 2016 UAE Cup Tasters Championship and represent the UAE in the World Championship 2017 in Budapest, where we managed to get to the quarter finals. I worked as the manager of a specialty coffee boutique based in Dubai, called Mokha1450 (mokha1450.com). In Spain I normally drank extremely bitter "torrefacto"​ roasts, putting always sugar and milk to avoid the piercing ashy flavours. I took a couple of barista courses and Raw Coffee Company (rawcoffeecompany.com), a roastery based in Al Quoz, gave me the opportunity to start working in coffee, offering me at the same time proper training. I had a job as production designer in an educational short film (Dir: Carmen Pérez) we made for the Natural History Museum in Morella, Spain. Have been invited to a few comic and cartoon festivals in Bolivia, Uruguay, Brazil, Morocco and Algeria.
