Founded Zidmi with the former sales director of Treatwell with the goal of building a service platform for health and beauty startups based on our experience building Treatwell. We launched the initial product with 2 clients after 6 months but due in part to lack of traction and other opportunities closed down after a year.

Highlights:- 2 months in the South Atlantic Islands (Ascension, St. Helena)- 1 month over-landing Southern Africa- 2 months hiking the Appalachian Trail (500 miles across ~100 mountains from CT to ME)- 1 month in Costa Rica building houses (volunteer project)- 1 month island hopping the Caribbean & Central America- 3 months in Boston building a data migration app using .Net MVC 4 / C#- Scuba Diving in 8 countries from Iceland to Grand Turk

Primarily responsible for delivering the next generation of Eviivo software, moving from a legacy desktop application to a browser based application. Directly in charge of a product team of 5 responsible for designing, specifying, and driving requirements to the development team based on user analysis and management priorities. Additionally acted as the primary data/solutions architect for the project.Key successes include:- Turning round the struggling re-architecture project and delivering the new platform- Driving product strategy for the re-architecture with the CEO- Implementing a hybrid Kanban/Scrum methodology to accelerate development- Building out a efficient/motivated product team- Completely re-designing the data architecture for the project

As a member of the founding management team I helped grow Wahanda (now Treatwell, a health and beauty portal) to a company with an annual turnover of around $20M with 60 employees.As CTO I carried out a very wide variety of functions including Development Manager, Lead PHP Developer, Chief Architect, Data Architect, Database Admin, Systems Admin, Corporate Support, PCI Compliance Officer, Finance Lead, T-SQL Developer, Data Analyst, Product Manager.Key successes include:- Leading tech strategy, reporting to the CEO/Board- Building/running a team of 17- Content Mgt. platform serving 100M requests per month- Email platform sending 15M emails per month- Full inventory platform for Hotels/Salons with date/time booking- Numerous high-traffic whitelabel implementations including lastminute.com/spa- Designing, building and operating a multi-rack internal data centre operation- Community platform with ~1M subscribers/members- Lead developer on internal tools (Tech/HR/Finance/CRM)- Designed analytics platform implementation processing billions of data points

I transitioned from lastminute.com over to Sabre/Travelocity specifically to lead the data architecture team on the new "Global Hotels" platform.This was a cross-company effort to build a next-generation hotels platform that could support both the GDS platform and the OTA platforms equally, replacing the legacy systems at Travelocity/Sabre and the hotels platform I designed for lastminute.com.The project was a multi-year, international effort with development teams in Krakow, London and Dallas. My team consisted of 3 data architects and 2 database developers.

I moved from the mid-office team to a more general Data focused role managing a small team of Data Architects and Data Analysts.This role gave me oversight on all data projects across the UK development teams as well as data integration across the wider European business.Key successes include:- Building out a solid Data Architecture and analysis capability- Designing a european-wide integration architecture using a single XML schema- Rebuilding hotels search for MedHotels increasing performance by an order of magnitude and doubling sales performance- Leading the data integration strategy for the migration to SAP

I originally started at lastminute.com as a consultant in 2000. After parting ways with my former colleagues at Arepo in 2002 I was persuaded to come on board full time to build out the mid-office technology team building and supporting Customer Services, Operations and Product Management applications.Key Successes include:- Building a European wide Data Integration platform- Designing a workflow engine based on Wil van der Aalst's Petri Net theory- Data Architect for the 3rd generation hotels platform- Leading a team of 15 developers

Co-founded this online adventure travel community that promoted sustainable tour operators and supported a traveling consumer base. Built the website from scratch with the small team in London and New York growing to over 10000 unique visitors a month.

Designed, built and supported a data processing and online search application to make the information sources used by the Factiva business available to clients.

I founded Arepo with 2 friends in the heady days of the dot com boom. We focused on software for the legal industry and consultancy for a wide range of clients from small charities to Fortune 100 companies.

Originally starting in Desktop Support I moved into development, designing/building a number of international applications using Visual Basic, ASP, Perl & SQL Server.
