I have designed and tested HW for the best enterprise mobile computers in the market, including handheld, vehicle mounted and wearable devices. I've also integrated the HW into systems and final products, which involved interactions with other disciplines besides EE. Finally, I've led the EE teams for the development of products, managing the work of collaborators in JDM (joint development manufacturer) partners abroad.

Test of rugged handheld and vehicle mount devices from concept to production, including electrical analysis of digital high-speed circuits and power/analog/battery circuits.• Created electrical test plans for different board revisions and validation stages in the design of an Android handheld computer and related accessories for battery charging. Implemented them in test management software environment. Reviewed test reports produced by JDM partners along the product development.• Tested main and backup batteries in handheld computer devices, including verification of fuel gauge circuit and battery rundown time under different use cases and environmental conditions.• Debugged electronic failures in prototypes of products under development, which were used for tests or returned by clients. Also tested solutions for them and verified electronic and system requirements.• Verified the power consumption of wearable computers under specific use cases used by the client, including specifications of environment and system configuration.• Tested the power circuit in a Bluetooth headset, as well as in a toaster charger for batteries. Verified battery charging/discharging profiles, including safety limits and fault conditions, under different environments. Modified circuit in PCB and created test fixtures to measure battery power transfer and communication signals.

Hired to integrate the new R&D group of the company in Toronto, aimed at the development of new products.• Worked on the definition of HW platform for future products.• Integrated and tested prototypes of robots which used ROS (Robot Operating System), SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), and embedded systems (single board computers (Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Odroid), sensors (LIDAR and depth cameras), batteries, motors, and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi)).

Joined the Electrical Engineering team of the company, responsible for leading the research, design and development of mobile and hand-held devices, aimed to commercial and industrial applications.• Worked on tests of components and systems and on the debug of issues (conducted emissions and system failures at low temperatures) at a new model of a vehicle-mounted computer, just before the product launch.

Samsung R&D Institute Brazil, Advanced Technology:Produced prototypes of new products, contributed to product design and researched enabling technologies and solutions.• Worked on a UX team to design new products and solutions using ideationsand rapid prototyping, and by producing technology and product reviews.• Designed, tested and debugged prototypes (HW and FW) for new consumer electronic products which included low power energy, wireless technologies, embedded computer systems, and sensors.• Recruited and liaised with PCB manufacturing and assembly companies.• Produced a product prototype using the concepts of wearables and IoT, which was selected for a fair on best ideas for new products in the company HQ.Samsung R&D Institute Brazil, IT Solutions Development:Joined a HW development group at the newly created Samsung R&D center. Worked on the design and verification of motherboards and other multilayer PCBs in collaboration with colleagues from the company HQ in South Korea.• Used EDA tools to design and review multilayer PCBs for local products, as well as to analyze and modify global products including motherboards of notebooks and tablets, using both Intel and AMD latest processors.• Analyzed SI at high-speed digital data buses and interconnects and PI on PDNs in multilayer and HDI PCBs, using simulations and measurements in both frequency and time domains.• Contributed to the creation of a product development process using SI/PI analyzes that was used to improve PCBs of products, which resulted in a decrease in overall product development costs.• Trained on the company HQ´s procedures to DRC of PCBs and EM analysis for antenna placement and RF interference at notebooks and tablets.• Coordinated the procurement of test and measurement instruments and EDA tools.• Produced the technical content of company reports that were submitted to the federal government in efforts to justify various government benefits that the company received.

Hired to work at the RF design team as result of a successful partnership with the company during postgraduate studies. Implemented graduate thesis to create a successful product for the company, developed and repaired various electronics and supervised the work of graduate student interns.• Designed and optimized a slotted waveguide antenna array in X band for a low cost short-range meteorological radar. Used evolutionary algorithms (EAs) to minimize the number and position ofantenna elements in a 2D array.• Assembled and tested an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) RF front-end, including PCB, connectors, enclosure and cables, a prototype for the first IFF Mode 4 developed in Brazil, delivered to the Brazilian Air Force.• Identified and repaired faults in RF front-ends of surveillance and remote sensing radars.• Designed a long range IFF/SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar) array antenna and MW filters.• Discovered several product development process improvements and overall product optimizations using EM simulation tools, that contributed to significant cost and time savings for the company.• Produced technical content in project reports for FINEP (Brazilian Innovation Agency) and for theBrazilian Army.
