Juliano Ribeiro Salgado studied Law and Economics at Sorbonne in Paris and holds a degree in cinema from the London International Film School. He has been a film director since 1996 and has been recognized with the Special Jury Prize at Cannes, the Audience Award at San Sebastian, and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2015 with "The Salt of the Earth." In 2016, he became a member of the Board of Directors at the Instituto Terra, actively working to develop the institute's infrastructure, strengthen financial sustainability policies, and implement actions within an organic narrative of socio-environmental transformation. His role at the Instituto Terra is guided by improving living conditions in the Rio Doce Watershed region, aiming for collaboration with rural producers, indigenous peoples, and municipal and state entities.
