My approach is dynamic and adaptable, and I thrive on challenges that demand strategic thinking and decisive action.Dynamic Executive Leadership: Over 30 years of international experience in leadership, security risk management, program management, consulting, growth strategy, and execution.Thought Leader: Internationally recognized as a speaker and thought leader in security risk management, with a dozen published books.Collaborative Leadership: Passionate about building exceptional teams, driving change, and fostering a growth-oriented culture.Proven Business Growth: Track record of enhancing company performance and exceeding sales and revenue targets through innovative strategies and efficient operations.Technology Strategist: Expertise in transforming technological capabilities into actionable business outcomes, including ICT transformation, SaaS, cybersecurity, and systems integration. In addition to my corporate experience, I’ve founded, co-founded, and led over 30 businesses. A few are still in the 'time will tell' category, and I’m excited to see where they go.I hold a Master of Risk Management, am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and have earned a range of certifications, including Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management, Fellow of the Risk Management Institution of Australasia, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional.

  • Imx Resources
    Operations Manager
    Imx Resources Nov 2009 - Dec 2011
In July 2009, I left a great 6-figure job in Canberra to move to Cambodia. The move was prompted by a love of travel and desire to find a quiet place to write some books. I left with about a month's wages in savings which was enough to live for a year in Cambodia. From the first day, I knew I had made the right move. Within 24 hours I had a phone SIM, 1-year visa, and an apartment with a view. And was living 100m from the best coffee in Phom Penh. It was a great base for 18 months and I love Cambodia but as things turned out, I would rarely be there. I presented at a conference in Los Angeles and consulted in Mexico, then in October, a mate emailed: "I'm working at a remote exploration camp in Tanzania. We are closing it for the wet season and need a caretaker. You are the only person I know with the skills who might be available. We'll cover expenses, pay you a little, and you'll have satellite internet to finish your books." My reply: "I need a nanosecond to think about it ... OK, Yes!" My friend took another job during the wet season and they offered me his job as Logistics/Operations Manager. It was remote - 5 days 4WD drive from the nearest espresso machine. The Senior Geologist looked after all things geological and I took care of fuel, food, safety, security, HR, electricity, travel, potable water, etc for about 50 people, 90% of them local Tanzanians. In Africa, we ran a first aid clinic for the local community, paid the salary of teachers at the local school, and made good friends. I also learned that Africa is not what you think and never to judge anybody. Ever. Some adventures are still at www.juliantalbot.blogspot.comThe next wet season, we found another caretaker and I lived in Colorado for the ski season before returning for the next season. Two of the books is started during this period are now published and I'm still finishing the others (I admit I was distracted) but I somehow wound up with more cash in the bank than I'd ever had.
