Having the opportunity to be a Clinical Social Work Intern at CHLA was one of the most insightful and life-changing experiences in my career. At CHLA, I provided outpatient therapy to adolescents and transitional age youth (TAY) in the Center for Transgender Youth Health and Development (CTYHD). Learned sex-positive and strength-based interventions, such as LGBT Affirming and Gender Therapy, to address youth needs. Reviewed and coordinated care plans for at-risk youth weekly with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, directors, and other social workers. Managed a caseload of clients, assisted with gender marker, name change paperwork, and letters of recommendation for gender-affirming surgical procedures. Lastly, I performed biopsychosocial evaluations and used cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, problem-solving therapy, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques to address gender dysphoria, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, health challenges, and sexual minority stressors.

Worked with adults dually diagnosed with intellectual disability and mental illness, specifically bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and autism, at Vista's adult day program. Provided therapy and behavioral intervention to address inappropriate sexual or violent behaviors. Took on teaching Men's and Women's health and wellness class to inform consumers about healthy sexual, mental, and physical behaviors. Ran weekly group processing classes around mindfulness and instill wholesome coping and independent living skills. Documented each client progress from my caseload and worked on reaching the client's personal goals regarding their behavioral management and independent living skills

Performed sales daily and empowered customers with sex-positive education about sexual health and wellness, creating a safe environment to discuss sensitive topics, personal inquiries, and intimate challenges. Participated in 40+ hours of training and monthly continuing education courses to keep updated on product knowledge and the most current information in sexual health. Managed store's profit margins by tracking weekly and monthly sales, hourly sales, lines per transaction, and average transaction amount to aim for monthly sale goals.

Aimed to establish and foster relationships between management, staff, and customers to ensure Trademark Service. Performed assistant manager duties by obtaining leads through cold calling and check up on a customer's purchase and product satisfaction. Managed, conducted, and organized customer and staff training events on new and incoming products for the store. Utilized store reports, such as Profit And Loss statements (P&L), to efficiently manage retail and communicate with my store team.
