I am a social planner with over 20 years experience in stakeholder engagement, social impact assessment, business case development and complex project management. I have specialist experience in affordable and social housing and Aboriginal land management issues. Most recently I have been privileged to work with Local Aboriginal Land Councils in NSW managing the NSWALC Subdivision Program. A complex state wide program that seeks to facilitate the subdivision of existing LALC owned discreet communities to improve asset management and living standards for residents. This project required in-depth consultation skills to inform, negotiate and persuade stakeholders of the benefits of a project never before attempted in NSW. Through persuasive evidenced based research NSWALC was able to gain the support of Government and non-government stakeholders of the benefits of the project such as Local Governments taking on dedication of infrastructure or state and federal governments accepting the Planning System required changing and funding was needed to facilitate this change. Most importantly it required building relationships of trust with LALC's, their members and residents so they could be provided with the required information to make informed decisions for their communities.
