The aim of Welcome to England, was to improve visitor experience at key touch points before, during and after the London 2012 Olympics.As Welcome to England Project Manager, I established a successful, high-level public and private partnership, research led to priorities, created a Project Strategy and Action Plan with delivery partners from key sectors including Airports, Rail Stations, Destinations, Volunteers, Hospitality and Culture organisations.I highlighted many examples of excellent practice and resources across the visitor journey and achieved significant results. An example of the tangible successess included a 6% rise in visitor perecptions at UK Airports during the Project.Elements of the Project have been incorporated within the VisitEngland Corporate Strategy.

As 1 of a hand-picked national team of 6 tourism experts, I researched and analysed Business Development Tools, Programmes and Initiatives, potentially at risk from changing Tourism delivery structures.My report outlined national, regional and local tools created by a variety of organisations, with analysis of their importance and transferability. My recommendations enabled VisitEngland, Government departments and other national partners to preserve the recommended tools and log others to avid future duplication and wasted resources.
