Lead the workshop committee to host the annual workshop of The Honeynet Project. Bridge with security experts around the world, the Project members, workshop sponsors and local coordinators to make the workshop happen.For the past years, I had involved in planning the successful annual workshops in Warsaw Poland in 2014, Dubai UAE in 2013, San Francisco.

Vouched for the full members since 2007 year. Elected as a BoD from 2011 to 2014: Responsible to define the direction and strategic vision of the Honeynet Project including appointing officers, approving budget and make important strategic decisions for this non-profit, volunteer-based and research-oriented security organization.

• Lead and collaborate with a team of master students from various university and labs to complete security projects and develop prototypes. These projects included:
• Network threat collection and integration: Collect and crawl a large collection of malicious incidents and malware samples using multi-purposed honeypot tools.
• First-generation Hpfeedshoneygraph: Use Splunk and implement Splunk apps to retrieval, analyze and visualize security logs. The project was accepted by google summer of code in 2012. See my blog.
• Malware analysis automation: Implement a platform to automatically analyze malicious behavior of binary malware samples and malicious PDF samples.

Propose an advanced hpfeedshoneygraph project idea, accept and mentor a google summer of code student to achieve the project goal. This project developed an approach to build a sociogram representation to visualize honeypot logs, and integrated with Elasticsearch, Logstash, kibana and D3.js.

A large amount of honeypot logs from Hpfeeds result in difficulties in data analysis and interpretation. In order to solve this problem and make logs easy to explain, this project is to implement a Splunk APP, named as HpfeedsHoneyGraph, for constructing attack graph from multi-sources to provide a comprehensive attack scenario.Blog introduction.
