About Julie Ahern
With a masters degree in education from the College of William and Mary, I designed statewide-used educational board games and RPGs. My early career also included stage managing and scripting plays as well as writing short stories.One of the founding members of Greenbrier Games, I began as the content writer and game designer, and rose to Vice President and COO. In the board game industry, I have worked in the capacity as a project manager, designer, developer, writer, and editor. My first hobby game design was Zpocalypse and more recently, I contributed one of the Final Girl movies for Van Ryder Games. Subsequently I was hired as the Sr Director of Operations. In addition to writing story, rules and copywrite, I've contributed to GTM Magazine and Meeple Monthly.Along with Rachael Blaske, social media coordinator for GAMA, I co-hosted the show You’re Invited, a live program discussing the challenges of being a small business owner. I served as Secretary on the Board of Directors for GAMA, the board game trade association, and serve on the board of the Jack Vasal Memorial Fund. I'm a member of WIT, Women in Toys, and an Educational Advisor for Sovranti, the online boardgaming platform.

Demonstrating games that are still in development to gain feedback from gamers to analyze design flaws and improve those games • Being a spokesperson for Greenbrier Games in radio interviews, local news spots, game review podcasts, and written reviews • Communicating weekly with project leads and artists using video conferencing and emails to monitor progress. Meeting with Greenbrier Games board of directors weekly via video conferencing to share each teams work.
