I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Open Ocean Robotics, a company that develops autonomous energy-harvesting boats to collect information from our oceans and instantly relay it. Our goal is to protect our oceans, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build an Internet of Things for the ocean. I am also a keynote speaker and author. National Geographic gave me the Adventurer of the Year Award and I’m Canadian Geographic Fellow. I’ve rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, travelled by rowboat across continents and sailed throughout the Mediterranean with my infant son. I’m the best-selling author of three books, co-producer of several documentaries and founder of another boat company. I have a M.Sc. in Molecular Biology and have worked in both research and business development in the healthcare field. I’m a mom to two incredible boys who I raise with my amazing husband.
