I have been working in the Data Entry/Data Capture industry since I left school in 1975. I started at the bottom as a punch card operator for Lloyds bank, then in 1981, when the data entry service bureau I was working at decided to modernise to key to disc, (ROCC Computers formally Redifusion) I just happened to be at the right place at the right time, and trained to be a qualified computer programmer.With my background in using the keyboard and knowing how to key in such varied work, plus wanting to make the work as interesting as possible for an operator as well as accurate as possible for the client, gave me a great advantage in application programming industry. It made me excel at what I do, and I soon gained a reputation for giving first class excellent service to my customers and the industry in general.In 1988 myself and my husband took over Data Entry UK 1988 Ltd (previously known as Datacentre Ltd , and then Data Image Ltd a few years later).In 1989 we went on to provide data capture services for all the share floatation projects for the banks, sometimes I had around 20 data entry bureaux working for me, we had over 125 staff, having offices in London and in Bristol.This included a department that was a very successful homeworker division.In 1999 we opened a very large scanning department, where we diversified into archive scanning, and actually had some very large projects until 2001 when 9-11 happened and the archiving industry took a hit, so we consolidated to just data capture, our core business. Over the years we have evolved into a homeworker only set up, and our main office is in an office at our home in Banwell, Somerset.I still have a passion for making our work the best and to provide the highest quality possible. I have been the head of many project teams for many clients, setting up and managing very complex jobs, and there has never been a project we could not develop the best solution for.From document design, to the final data file that ends up on the clients system, we are the expert solution providers in our field in the UK.We still prefer to deal with paper documents, and I am still surprised by how many jobs there are like this out there in our modern high-tech world.Qualifications.DEMA Founder member and CEO (Data Entry Management Association UK).Public speaking at many Data Entry and Data Processing industry conferences all over the Europe and North America.
