Upon graduating from the Interior Decorating program at Conestoga College in the spring of 2015; the vast range of industry related knowledge that I have acquired, allows me to confidently join the professional industry with an applicable skill set. Past employment opportunities have honed my ability to not only anticipate a clients needs but, to utilize my knowledge of the product to make recommendations that ensure satisfaction. I am an energetic person who enjoys working with others as well as independently. My constant desire for organization and perfection has often times landed myself in a leadership role, a trait that has allowed me to exercise both time management and problem solving skills. With a strong passion for the interior decorating industry, I believe myself to be a quick and motivated learner, who is always interested in acquiring new and innovative information. The program at Conestoga has enabled me to nourish my creativity while maintaining a strong focus on detail. I possess a theoretical and hands on understanding of the interior decorating process. From the concept development stage to the execution of the project, all aspects of the industry have been explored. A focus on effective professional and technical communications of design concepts, has provided me with the knowledge and understanding of leading design software. Information pertaining to colour theory, fabrics and textiles, materials and finishes, and sustainable resources has provided me with a resilient confidence in making appropriate selections. I possess an insight and a comprehension of the management aspects required in the execution of a design project. My proficient ability to meet deadlines, while presenting exemplary results will prove beneficial in all aspects of the field. In seeking an opportunity to gain experience in the industry, I hope to create new relationships and friendships with both clients and co-workers alike.
