Reporting to the CFO with overall responsibility of the payroll function within the UK which covers multiple business units employing over 45,000 employees on 6 different pay cycles. > Key relationship manager with the fully managed outsource payroll providers ensuring statutory and company procedures are adhered to (Auto Enrolment/RTI etc).> Ownership of the contract with the outsource provider, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of the agreement are met with regular reviews at operational and governance levels which includes monitoring of SLAs and KPIs.> Reviewing and improving the service delivery to provide better support to the business.> Management of robust change control process to make systems and procedures more efficient.> Leading a team of 9 people to provide payroll support to operations and local payroll champions (training/troubleshooting/implementing contingency plans/auditing/communications etc).> Management of the regular migration of TUPE staff on to the ISS payroll ensuring a smooth transition for new employees and management staff.> Updating and improving companywide payroll procedures.> Providing management information to the business.> Ownership and control of department budgets.

> Actively managed the transition of the in house payroll operation covering 24,000 staff in over 650 locations including retails stores, airports, train stations and distribution centres to a fully managed outsourced solution.> Governance of statutory compliance for payroll related returns and agreements (P35, P11Ds, PSA, Dispensations and Salary Sacrifice Schemes).> Management and implementation of an on line expenses system ensuring a solid audit trail for authorisation in line with the company expenses policy.> Identified and implemented a project for the payroll implications of the demerger of the retail and news businesses ensuring that key stakeholders were engaged.

> Management of in house payroll team comprising 15 staff, processing end to end payroll for over 26,000 staff over 350 locations.> Completion of all payroll related reconciliations and processing of 3rd party disbursements.> Providing management information in line with business requirements.
