I have worked for many years on a freelance/contract basis copyediting nonfiction books, academic writing (including Ph.D. dissertations), training manuals, PowerPoint training modules (for both online and instructor-led training), reports, and other materials for such companies as Cengage Publishers, Aptara/Techbooks, Cambridge University Press, Sacred Heart University, T. Rowe Price, Alltel, Disney, NASA, GE, Cisco, Vector Fields Software, AutoTrader Magazine, NetApp, and Wiley & Sons Inc. Additionally, I have written Web copy, marketing emails, ad copy (for magazines and billboards), resumes and cover letters, art gallery invitations, annual meeting invitations and information for attendee packets, and artist biographies for art catalogs.I also have developed course instruction and testing modules for Ashworth College, Corinthian Colleges, Everest College, Cengage Learning Publishers, and Wiley & Sons, sometimes with accompanying PowerPoints, printed lesson or homework materials, and Smartboard activities. I often work with instructional designers and SMEs. My corporate experience includes working as the managing editor for in-house magazines for IBM and Trammell Crow Co. This included writing articles, designing layouts, working with vendors, managing interns, and handling budgets. While at these companies, I also wrote speeches, press Q & As, press releases, brochures, and other promotional material. I have spent many years teaching business writing online to business professionals, including grant writing, audit report writing, business report writing, and public relations.
