Director Information Management Security (DIM Secur)Departmental COMSEC AuthorityLeads the development and implementation of COMSEC policy changes. Researches and writes, in both English and French, a diverse range of policy instruments that meet the military operational context requirements and national directives. Provides advice to management on COMSEC matters. Responsible for the COMSEC awareness program. Establishes and maintains a liaison network with the lead agency on communications security, and other DND/CAF organizations. Develops reports obtained through analysis of audit logs, technical information, COMSEC incidents, to enable the development of corrective action, and to determine legal implications to maintain and improve DND/CAF security operations.Prepares and presents written reports and briefing notes on information relevant to the provision of COMSEC services; this information assists management in making decisions on departmental priorities regarding COMSEC to maintain and improve security operations. Co-chairs the COMSEC policy working group. Manages the DND/CAF COMSEC intranet site.

Canadian Forces Crypto Support Unit, 76 Communication Regiment, 7 Communication Group, Director General Information Management Operations (DGIMO):Managed the production of COMSEC policy, standards and procedures. Responsibilities included researching, analyzing, writing, editing, translating. Approved the publishing of COMSEC and INFOSEC publications and directives.As co-chairperson of the Policy Review Board, contributed actively to the development, review and recommendation of COMSEC policies, directives, standards and procedures that have IT security implications, while ensuring compliance with other legal requirements (e.g. COMSEC incident reporting processes). Provided advice to peers and management on IM/IT issues, more specifically on COMSEC issues involving cryptographic security, physical security and personnel security. Assisted in the development of user guides pertaining to cryptographic devices. Managed the design of the COMSEC training program and monitored the delivery of formal training pertaining to automated and manual COMSEC systems. Promoted COMSEC awareness in the DND and the CAF (e.g. developed an awareness training document on Controlled Cryptographic Items and an Introduction to COMSEC Concepts). Carried out research on various cryptographic security topics.

Contributed to the communications strategy aimed at the provincial government and professional corporation to convert restrictive permits of foreign physicians practising medicine in Québec into regular permits. Wrote press releases, briefing notes, provided content to the Web site and monitored media activity.

Wrote and designed communication products such as proposals, books of specifications, print advertising, press releases. Ensured compliance of proposals to Requests for Proposals and coordinated the proposal process. Translated texts in the engineering field.
