SAWs is an "all volunteer army" of people who serve the Lord by building wheelchair ramps for the elderly or disabled who would be trapped in their homes without one. My position is to recruit volunteers from the community to supply the manpower to build the ramps. SAWsRAMPs provides all materials & equipment.

I am the volunteer coordinator for a 501(c)3 non-for-profit corporation. It started 10 yrs. ago as a partnership between 2nd Presbyterian Church & St. Luke's UMC Church in Indpls, IN to provide freedom for in financial need who would otherwise be captives in their own homes.

As a wedding officiant & help my couples write their ceremonies, so they are able to express exactly what they want or put together the vows for them, their choice. I wrote my own ceremony 37 yrs. ago. This is really a joyful position. I also perform funeral services.

I had the honor of providing, medical, emotional & physical support for children with special needs so they were able to stay at home with their families. I had some long term cases lasting 2-3 yrs. and I'm still close to several of those families today. This is the most rewarding position I ever held in nursing. My love for children with Downs Syndrome still abounds!
