With over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I am passionate about promoting lifelong learning and skills development among trade union members and workers. As the Union Learn Development Officer at the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), I manage and coordinate the Union Learning Fund and initiatives that aim to enhance the learning opportunities and outcomes for union learners across Northern Ireland. I also provide financial and administrative support to the ULF projects from participating unions, ensuring compliance and accountability. Some of the skills that I use and develop in my role include project management, project finance, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement. I enjoy working with a diverse and collaborative team of project managers that share the same vision and values of advancing the education and empowerment of workers and their representatives. I believe that learning is a key driver of social and economic change, and I am committed to making it accessible and relevant for everyone.
