Together with Lyn Jones I lead Planning Ventures, a planning consultancy, based in Bristol and Portishead that provides tailor made, independent planning advice and support for property projects.I'm a Chartered Town Planner and have been a Member of the RTPI since 1999. I'm a member of Bristol's Conservation Advisory Panel, representing the Bristol Neighbourhood Planning Network. I'm also the current Chair, Director and Trustee of the Friends of Jubilee Swimming Pool (Bristol) Ltd. Together with my fellow Directors and Trustees we own and operate Jubilee Pool in Knowle and are the first Community Group to have taken on a large leisure facility in Bristol through a Community Asset Transfer process. I work with land and property owners and developers, commercial organisations, asset managers, real estate developers, financial institutions and individuals. With a passion for all things heritage and great design I love helping to breathe new life into old buildings and secure permission for great new developments. I act on projects that cover commercial, private and student residential, hotel and mixed use development and heritage led development. I help at pre application stage with planning appraisals and pre application statements. I manage the pre application and application process. I produce pre application and planning statements, briefing notes, statements of common ground, statements of case and proofs of evidence. I provide planning input into Environmental Impact Assessments, with requests for screening opinions, scoping reports, planning reports and input into non technical summaries. I work collaboratively with design teams to produce Masterplans, development briefs and neighbourhood plans. I submit reps for Conservation Area Appraisals and Local Plan reps. I manage stakeholder and public consultation events comprising briefings and presentations to Local Planning Authorities, statutory consultees, design forums, Government advisors and the public. I have an extensive network of contacts within multi-disciplinary fields and can join your team or create one to help with a project.
