Julie McCarty founded NE Tarrant Tea Party in 2009, and it quickly became the most influential, active, and recognized tea party in Texas. From replacing all the State House representatives in the area with conservatives, to suing the IRS (and winning), to hosting one-day events raising half a million dollars for conservative candidates, Julie and this group are loved – and hated – by many. Julie has a reputation for telling it like it is with no holds barred, and the tea party meetings brought in hundreds of activists every month for over 10 years. In 2019 the group rebranded to True Texas Project, reflecting an expanded vision and reach. In fact, Julie and her team with the new name and new vision immediately began expanding the organization with the creation of satellite locations across the State of Texas. When not leading this group into the next decades, Julie spends her time homeschooling her daughter and running her real estate investment business with her husband Fred. She attends First Baptist Church of Grapevine, and her passions include traveling and organizing.
