Mid Michigan Sports Turf signed a lease with the City of Lansing and formed a public-private partnership to take over management of Hope Sports Complex in July, 2013. Since taking over the management of the Complex (formerly known as Kenneth Hope Soccer Complex), we have invested $2M+ into the park to remediate fields, irrigation, amenities and increase staff. The once "soccer only" complex has opened up field rentals to all local soccer leagues and clubs, lacrosse, rugby, ultimate frisbee, flag and tackle football, little league baseball and softball. We also created a fun 5K running course for competitive and recreational fun runs. Irrigation for the complex was remediated this fall with a new irrigation pump and will continue to service fourteen pristine acres of playable sports fields. Fields can be measured and lined for different sports, based on need.Our initial largest accomplishment was in 2014 with the construction/installation of the area's first full size artificial turf field with lights. It is permanently lined for soccer, lacrosse, little league baseball and softball. This field allows for high level games for soccer, lacrosse and other sports with extended playing hours, even in the wettest conditions. A press box and jumbotron scoreboard were also installed.Cleats Bar and Grille also opened in late 2015. It is open to the public and has award winning artisanal pub food served from March through December, as it is a seasonal cafe. Cleats is a community favorite, especially for sports families that train or play games at Hope! It boasts the largest outdoor patio in the area with the very best sunsets.Hope has successfully hosted several soccer, lacrosse, flag football and rugby tournaments. 2020 will continue on with exciting events for several sports, music and community events. We are currently seeking funding to embark on a 90-acre expansion to make Hope Complex the region's preferred sport complex and tournament destination.
