I am a Partner in DWF's Liverpool Real Estate team. I trained and qualified in Liverpool and have experience covering a full range of real estate work and property finance.I specialise in commercial development including negotiating development agreements, forward funding agreements, grant funding agreements, site assembly and lettings. I act for developers, investors and property companies in the acquisition, letting and disposal of a variety of commercial, industrial and mixed use schemes. I lead a team who are responsible for the delivery of occupational leases and associated agreements for lease, substation leases, planning agreements and all interrelated construction documentsI have taken the lead role in two flagship complex mixed-use developments in the Northwest, containing offices, retail, leisure, supermarket, hotels, cinema, public realm and residential apartments and led a major forward funding deal worth £47m for the construction of 140,000 sq.ft of commercial space in the North West.Julie is part of the Outsourcing and Technology Sector Group at DWF working alongside others within DWF to advise clients in relation to the property challenges facing this fast moving sector. Examples of the work in this sector include Julie and her team negotiating Data Centre Leases, Wayleave Agreements, Telecommunications Code Agreements, Deeds of Easement, Lift and Shift Provisions and Licences for Alterations for landlords and tenants in the Technology Sector. I also manage a team delivering an estate management support function for a fund's significant investment portfolio. I work closely with the fund; involved in their overall strategy as well as the day to day management of assets to ensure legal advice is relevant and practical. I deal with the acquisitions and disposals for the fund and the team undertake the Landlord and Tenant work dealing with the day to day management of the investment portfolio.

As Chair of the Professional and Financial Services Steering Group I am supporting Liverpool Vision in their delivery of the IFB 2014. Leading members of the North West’s professional and financial services community have met to discuss how next year’s International Festival for Business (IFB 2014) can bring huge benefits to the sector. The Group will look to facilitate the delivery of a diverse programme of business focused, professional and financial services themed events as part of the Festival that will promote the best of British business, industry and manufacturing.IFB 2014’s Professional and Financial services week will start on Monday, June 30 2014. IFB 2014 is a 50-day business festival hosted in Liverpool city region during June-July 2014 and will champion UK businesses to new markets, new products and new partners.Comprising more than 100 world-class events, the festival is a key part of the Government’s ambition to promote economic growth, rebalance the economy and double UK exports by 2020.Backed by UK Government, IFB 2014 will cast a light on the spheres of commercial endeavour that are transforming the new economies and business landscapes of Britain and beyond. Key themes of the festival include: manufacturing, science & technology; maritime, logistics & energy; knowledge, professional & financial services; higher & further education & research; low carbon & renewables; cities, enterprise & urban business; knowledge, creative & digital.

I acted for developers in relation to both commercial, residential and mixed use developments. I also acted on a number of landlord and tenant matters.

I trained at Cuff Roberts and qualified into the Real Estate team. I worked primarily for Residential Developers in relation to site acquisitions and setting up the estate documents. I then worked closely with the Plot Sales team to ensure efficient delivery of the residential sales.
