Currently, I am a Chemistry Ph.D. Candidate in Dr. Steve Townsend’s lab at Vanderbilt University. My research involves collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Gaddy to positively mediate the host pathogen interface with human milk oligosaccharides while exposing the underlying mechanism of these complex sugars. Previously, I graduated from Salisbury University with a B.S. in BioChemistry. My research at SU included the synthesis of a 5-HT2a agonist under the mentorship of Dr. Jose Juncosa. Additionally, I worked in Dr. Anthony Rojas’s group attempting to synthetically improve the contrast agent associated with MRIs. At Salisbury, I was grateful to be a part of the varsity lacrosse team where I helped lead the 2021 unit to a National Championship. With these skills, I have continued mentoring younger lacrosse players through volunteering with Vanderbilt’s women’s lacrosse team.
