Since qualifying as a nurse with the University of Portsmouth in 2000, I have had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of clinical areas including ICU, Medicines Management, Offender Healthcare and Community Palliative Care. I am a non-medical prescriber since 2006 and have undertaken a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Practice achieving a 2:1 with the University of Southampton. My dissertation focused on patient concordance with medication and the barriers to change in healthcare. I have also undertaken Common Presentations in Acute and Unscheduled Care and the History Taking and Clinical Examination OSCE. My passion is Minor Illness and General Practice but I also have an interest in End of Life care and Substance Misuse.I have now undertaken a PG Dip in Advanced Clinical Practice and continue to work as an ANP in General Practice.
