We are studying young adult library spaces in recently remodeled libraries across the United States. I perform literature reviews appropriate to our research, analyze video recordings of library spaces, create 3D models of young adult spaces in Second Life for further analysis, and participate in library events. This fall I will participate in a poster session at the California Library Association Conference in San Jose, CA and the Library 2.012 Conference online.

In more than four and half years, I have held various positions at two different Target locations. My supervisor in electronics describes my communications and interpersonal skills as excellent. I have also been noted for being a person who takes great care to ensure that customers leave the store with the electronics item that best fits their needs. I also served as a cashier for my last few months at Target, a position that requires strong customer service skills.

In this job I learned the art of self-paced work and new employee training. I created transcriptions for linguistic analysis, proofread files created by others, trained new employees to use in-house software, trained new employees in transcription standards for our group, and assisted with occasional recordings.

This job required a variety of tasks, from carrying messages all over campus to troubleshooting computers for the professors. I regularly kept inventory of the supply cabinet, sorted mail, made coffee, cleaned, and performed data entry.
