I practiced law (focusing on patent litigation) for over a decade in firms ranging from two to more than 2100 lawyers, before founding the business now known as Fleming Strategic in 2005. Through Fleming Strategic LLC, I help attorneys and other business owners discover their unique business development opportunities and learn how to build a solid, sustainable book of business. Client work also includes a focus on professional, career, and leadership development, as well as career strategy and work/life integration. In addition to training programs, I also work with a limited number of clients one-on-one and speak for law firms, bar associations, and law schools. I wrote The Reluctant Rainmaker: A Guide for Lawyers Who Hate Selling (second edition, 2014), Legal Rainmaking Myths: What You Think You Know About Business Development Could Kill Your Practice (2013), and Seven Foundations of Time Mastery for Attorneys (2011), and I publish a weekly email newsletter.
