My professional experience includes 10+ years of developing, designing, and executing fundraising campaigns, producing successful community events, and serving as leader for an array of client and donor specific events. From formulating development strategies to preparing annual budgets and implementing marketing plans, I am dedicated to managing fiscal responsibility and achieving organizational growth objectives. I am currently the Communications Manager for VOA, supporting innovative solutions to homelessness by successfully craft stories, communicate policy changes affecting our work to program directors, create advocacy pieces and press kits for executive staff and media use, and produce marketing and other materials. My work with Yolo County Children’s Alliance focused on building a contemporary, cohesive brand identity as a leader in child abuse prevention efforts in Yolo County, supporting the agency’s program work by developing compelling communication tools – in English, Spanish, and Russian. I also executed innovative fund development projects, utilizing a full suite of communication resources to share both program struggles and successes: website and social media content, brochures and supplemental program materials, agency press kits, annual reports, and more. I understand the value of strategic partnerships and use this experience to effectively work with constituents, clients, corporate partners, and the community. At the Downtown Sacramento Partnership (DSP), I developed valuable connections among city agencies, district stakeholders and key community partners – all of whom were invaluable to a growing partnership network. I understand communications from varying perspectives and can use this experience to effectively work with constituents, volunteers, corporate partners, and the community. I also have over a decade of experience as a retail business operator in Davis. De Colores Trading Co., was more than a retail/wholesale business in that we always operated mindful of our mission statement to support indigenous artisans in developing countries, especially women artists/artist cooperatives. Communicating this mission was a constant in every area of our business; promoting this distinction as a ‘fair trade’ social enterprise required frequent and consistent communication efforts that provided me with experience beyond the average business owner. I learned valuable skills that serve well today: maximizing resources, identifying new funding opportunities, and thinking creatively to solve problems.

Special Projects ManagerYolo County Children'S Alliance Mar 2012 - Dec 2018My work with Yolo County Children’s Alliance focused on building a contemporary, cohesive brand identity as a leader in child abuse prevention efforts in Yolo County, supporting the agency’s program work by developing compelling communication tools – in English, Spanish, and Russian. I also executed innovative fund development projects, utilizing a full suite of communication resources to share both program struggles and successes: website and social media content, brochures and supplemental program materials, agency press kits, annual reports, and more. It is my belief that sharing agency stories, client success stories, and even staff stories builds confidence and provides context to the work. When the public better understands how a program’s success impacts the community, the easier it is to attract more resources and engage more partners. A major component of my duties at Yolo County Children’s Alliance put me in a leadership role at agency-organized community service events and fundraisers, both of which rely on numerous volunteers for their success. I have many years of experience with volunteer recruitment, training, placement and communications. I sincerely enjoy working with enthusiastic community members toward a greater good.
