Over the past 30 years, I have established or acquired six businesses in a range of industry sectors from accounting and property through to engineering and ambient baking. As Chairman of all the group, I have been fully accountable for the financial and operational management of each business requiring me to understand the industry, market and competitors and to formulate effective strategies accordingly. My success in this capacity has led to me winning a number of awards, including Outstanding Woman in Business 2015. Managing multi-million pound turnover companies, I understand exactly what it takes to make a business a success. It is much more than just putting the strategic plans in place. Building highly experienced, qualified and dedicated teams and providing them with motivational leadership is fundamentally important and something which I have considerable experience in. My career to date has been both diverse and rewarding and I have spoken about my unconventional but inspirational journey through business at various seminars. I have also shared my knowledge and experience with other businesses in the capacity of a coach, helping them to overcome any obstacles and to achieve profitable growth. After selling off my peripheral business interests, I now put all of the diverse knowledge gained along the way to good use; back at the helm of Baker Bennett where I began in 1994.My interests are as diverse as my business experiences and range from the gym, hill walking, yoga, Ayurveda, dining out and fashion; through to art, sculpture and creative writing, with a particular love of poetry. I also enjoy supercars, hold a class B racing licence and am a member of the British Automobile Racing Club.
