Organized all public relations activities for Race for the Cure and other programs to increase awareness about the organization’s mission. Worked with grantees to develop messaging and media stories. Pitched and placed stories in print, broadcast and online outlets. Secured more than $1 million of in-kind media sponsorships. During board term, local media coverage more than doubled.

Counseled clients on PR and marketing initiatives including:• Campaign for Roche Diagnostics to educate the Dallas Hispanic community about diabetes control and prevention. Organized all logistics for 15 community events. Worked with community partners. Garnered media coverage in local English and Spanish publications and significantly increased awareness of Roche’s products in the target market. • Worldwide PR program for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ participation in the Academy Awards balloting process. Worked with media outlets including the Today Show, E!, Entertainment Weekly, People and international newspapers. • Launch of start-up company with a fitness application for mobile phones. Secured coverage in USA Today, The New York Times, Associated Press, Washington Post and CBS News online. As a result of program and media exposure, company received renewed interest from venture capitalists.
