I am currently Associate Vice President of 6 successful Madison College Libraries and 6 Student Achievement Centers located in Madison, Madison South, Fort Atkinson, Portage, Reedsburg and Watertown. Our data consistently show students who use our services are more likely to complete their courses and receive higher grades. We serve all students through an equity lens to ensure a welcoming environment and eliminate gaps in success. We offer robust online services and welcome students to our beautiful on-site facilities.Our libraries serve students and staff and supports lifelong learning by offering reference & research assistance, digital citizenship training, information literacy learning, spaces for individual study or collaborative learning, print and electronic resources and highly sophisticated academic technology assistance to students. Madison College SAC has a nationally certified peer tutor training program and our Academic Engagement Partners and peer tutors provide exceptional support in traditionally difficult courses. We promote successful studying strategies and collaborative learning options. The Center also provides traditional and embedded peer-led Supplemental Instruction for course-specific classes that consistently results in higher course retention and success rates.
