In this role, I oversee the new Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) at Palo Alto College. The TLC is a resource and professional development hub for faculty and staff. Our amazing TLC team includes PAC's Academic Assessment Coordinator, Instructional Tech and Canvas Support Specialist, Online Course Instructional Designer, and Faculty Fellow for Development.

I served as the College's coordinator for program- and institutional-level student learning outcomes assessment. Program assessment takes place in the Professional & Tech Ed Division programs and my work involved guiding program faculty and division leadership through the program assessment cycle: establishing relevant and measureable program learning outcomes (PLOs), mapping curriculum to PLOs, determining assessment measures, collecting and analyzing assessment results, and using the results to determine program improvement actions for the next cycle that could be implemented with fidelity across the program.The Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) include the valuable skills of Communication, Critical Thinking, Empirical & Quantitative Skills, Personal Responsibility, Social Responsibility, and Teamwork. At PAC we employ a performance-based assessment using student work and analytic rubrics for the ILOs. Our improvement work involved assisting faculty with assignment design - making the language of the instructions very explicit and transparent for students. This improved students' ability to fully demonstrate their proficiency in the ILOs, made their work fully assessable using the rubrics, and therefore improved the validity of our assessment results.Assessment work also included building awareness and value of outcomes assessment for student learning improvement.

Plan and implement novice level Spanish curriculum to high school students.

I managed the administration of all high stakes national, state, and local assessments, including coordinating and training personnel.

I consulted with the principal and the academic leadership team on curriculum, instruction and assessment. I observed individual teachers and provided instructional guidance as needed through a coaching model. I served as the campus testing coordinator.

I served as the primary contact for schools and districts across Texas using the LUCHA™ services for secondary English language learners & other K-16 Center services. I primarily planned, developed and provided individualized training for schools and districts and assisted with trouble-shooting program implementation.
